Inspiration from the land of the rising sun..
Recently, I went to another person’s blog and read about her post on the movie Marie Antoinette and the beautiful beautiful set. I scrolled down and there I saw a ‘critic’ criticising the blogger for blogging about such ‘americanised’ and ’shallow’ topic. Granted that the blogger had always blogged about high-end gourmet and other such endeavours, anyone is free to blog about something he or she likes. Consistency is admired by me, but there will be times when people let loose and indulge in somthing simpler and easy to understand.
It’s like taking a breather…
I for one, found Japanese Fashion magazines to be complete eye candy! I love the cramped, yet organised chaos and the psychedelic colours that fill the pages. It makes me wonder how Singapore magazines got to such a sorry state when I flip through them. I complained to this friend who is working at the conglomeration that houses most of the Singapore mags (Duh…) and he pointed out to me that it’s because of the 4 seasons that they have and that we don’t.
Could that be an excuse.. ?I suspect that those mags might be one of the causes of unimaginative dressing in Singapore. Or, it could be the playsafe attitudes of Singaporeans which causes magazines to select styles that Singaporeans feel comfortable in. I do see more improvements as the years go by however… Still, I do see people who go out with dishevelled hair sans makeup and T-shirts and shorts. Sigh… blame it on the culture of Singapore (not much emphasis placed on aesthetics like the Japanese) and the hot weather oftened used as an excuse to dress casual all the time.
Before I go any further, and let’s hear the music of the blog
It’s another sexy smooth number from Nuspirit Helsinki! The piano accompaniment and the vocals that went with it is absolutely unique and persuasive… Check out the unusual rhythem. I almost don’t know whether this is something to chill to or shake to. *_*
And, here’s some eye candy (literally) while you listen to something deeper than the black coffee on your desk ..

My favourite Japanese magazine model! Lena Fuji! Sexy isn’t she?

Clothes that you will never see Singaporeans wear on the streets. Sometimes I wonder why ‘cutesy’ dressing is being dismissed as childlike or shallow. As seen in the next two pictures below, cutesy can also mean creative. The colour combination and the use of befitting accessories bring it all together, perhaps too well.

Even Chanel looks adorable in the pages of Vivi Mag! Amazing….

Fashion and cute little dessert morsels go hand in hand…

Whenever I feel like dressing sloppy, I’ll only need to flip through the pages of my Cawaii and Vivi magazines to feel a pang of guilt and start planning on what to wear and the choice of my hairstyle.
Nowadays however, I only dress for work. Sigh… But my heads are still up as I’d already tendered my resignation. ^_*
This means more pictures…
till the next time!
