Kawaiiness Part II; Freedom!!
Freedom, my friends, is not overated!!
And yes, you’ve guessed it! I officially left my previous company on the 1st of March. Good riddance I’d say…
I’m onto my next search for the coveted career where it wouldn’t feel wrong every morning to drag myself to work or unmotivated to do the task on hand.
And the music of the blog is… something underated..
Pienso En Ti (I think of you) by Luis Salinas
This light-hearted cheery number was discovered by me when I bought the cd ‘Milan fashion’. It’s the last track of the cd and it wraps up the whole list of tracks which felt like a runway show commencing. It doesn’t sound too melancholic like most tracks placed at the end of the CD, but rather, telling others that this won’t be the last and there’ll always be chance to meet again for happy times. So, like me telling my girls in the previous workplace, there’ll be another time…
In anycase, I’d taken more photos from my favourite Japanese magazine. So this is kawaiiness from the land of the rising sun, part II

PS: I’m unable to get some of the pictures aligned the right way up and I’m mystified… I had already saved them to be upright in my computer but when they upload, they don’t upload the way I saved them…
Oh well.. till I figure out, bon appetit!
Inspiration from the land of the rising sun..
Recently, I went to another person’s blog and read about her post on the movie Marie Antoinette and the beautiful beautiful set. I scrolled down and there I saw a ‘critic’ criticising the blogger for blogging about such ‘americanised’ and ’shallow’ topic. Granted that the blogger had always blogged about high-end gourmet and other such endeavours, anyone is free to blog about something he or she likes. Consistency is admired by me, but there will be times when people let loose and indulge in somthing simpler and easy to understand.
It’s like taking a breather…
I for one, found Japanese Fashion magazines to be complete eye candy! I love the cramped, yet organised chaos and the psychedelic colours that fill the pages. It makes me wonder how Singapore magazines got to such a sorry state when I flip through them. I complained to this friend who is working at the conglomeration that houses most of the Singapore mags (Duh…) and he pointed out to me that it’s because of the 4 seasons that they have and that we don’t.
Could that be an excuse.. ?I suspect that those mags might be one of the causes of unimaginative dressing in Singapore. Or, it could be the playsafe attitudes of Singaporeans which causes magazines to select styles that Singaporeans feel comfortable in. I do see more improvements as the years go by however… Still, I do see people who go out with dishevelled hair sans makeup and T-shirts and shorts. Sigh… blame it on the culture of Singapore (not much emphasis placed on aesthetics like the Japanese) and the hot weather oftened used as an excuse to dress casual all the time.
Before I go any further, and let’s hear the music of the blog
It’s another sexy smooth number from Nuspirit Helsinki! The piano accompaniment and the vocals that went with it is absolutely unique and persuasive… Check out the unusual rhythem. I almost don’t know whether this is something to chill to or shake to. *_*
And, here’s some eye candy (literally) while you listen to something deeper than the black coffee on your desk ..

*
My favourite Japanese magazine model! Lena Fuji! Sexy isn’t she?

Clothes that you will never see Singaporeans wear on the streets. Sometimes I wonder why ‘cutesy’ dressing is being dismissed as childlike or shallow. As seen in the next two pictures below, cutesy can also mean creative. The colour combination and the use of befitting accessories bring it all together, perhaps too well.

Even Chanel looks adorable in the pages of Vivi Mag! Amazing….

Fashion and cute little dessert morsels go hand in hand…

Whenever I feel like dressing sloppy, I’ll only need to flip through the pages of my Cawaii and Vivi magazines to feel a pang of guilt and start planning on what to wear and the choice of my hairstyle.
Nowadays however, I only dress for work. Sigh… But my heads are still up as I’d already tendered my resignation. ^_*
This means more pictures…
till the next time!
Back to the basics!
My system has been feeling sluggish of late and I suspect it’s the indulgence in rich foods, alcohol (LOTS of it!!) and of course the lack of exercise, work and such. So I decided to return to the basics, doing what makes me feel healthy and brand new.
But first up, a promise is a promise and I shall introduce you the Music of this post…
This is absolutely my all time fav!!! It’s sooooo smoozy and chill…. I first listened to this loungier than lounge tune from my ex-boss’s CD ‘Private Lounge’. When he was looking for music to fill his new eatery at Greenwood Ave (Covo), he brought along various CDs for me to sample, and I contributed my collection as well. I fell head over heels with this tune, laced with the low buzz of the shaker, as well as the saxaphone stroking you slowly to blissfulness with the simple yet effective keyboard tunes…. Dame.. It’s music porno if I might say so myself!! (With much taste of course….)
And lulling you back to reality, the healthy thing I’m doing now of course..
I’ve recently got in the know about the beauty of Sichuan girls. check out these pictures..
From the most traditionally dressed…

To the modern…. Slurrrrrrrrrrrp huh???
As I’m now working with a China developer in my company, I’d inquired from one of them why Sichuan girls are oh so desirable. He explained that the Sichuan province in China is actually a sunken area, below ground level. Moisture, whichever kind, tends to get trapped within the area. So, their skin are seldom dehydrated (which we all know, is mighty important for that glowy, dewy smooth skin.)
They also tend to eat loads of chilli which helps them keep slim, rid their system of toxins, as well as get loads of vitamin C and other antioxidents into their systems.
I’m SOOOOOOO jealous!!!
Nevertheless, although I’m don’t have all the best genes in the world and don’t live in Sichuan, I shall endeavour to do my best to acquire the perfect health and body.
I’ve resorted to eating sashimi at least once a week to get that oh so important omega 3 and 6 as well as antioxidant ..
The very fresh and value for money sashimi at Sakuraya…

And yet more fish swimming in the goodness of the milky broth (with chilli padi on the side of course…)
Picture courtesy of ‘ieatishootipost.blogspot.com’. Isn’t the milky soup enticing? mmmmm….. And yes, that’s what I have EVERYDAY!! I hope my skin becomes that colour too…hehe..

The day before yesterday night, I had hockchew fishball (those with meat in the middle) with veg soup prepared lovingly by my mum. Yesterday, I had fish meat beehoon soup with chilli padi for brekkie and pigs organ soup for afternoon, again with chilli…
And today, I had yong tau hu soup for breakfast and fish meat soup for lunch.
That should slim me down and detoxify me!!! HARR…..

Sigh…. Far from it I suppose…
I guess I’ll have to be as made up as a Japanese girl..
I’ll keep you posted with regards to my progress….
My obsession..
For the longest time, my friends have been very amused at my one and only obsession..
Music.
And it is quite true. I am annal about the kind of music that should be played at a bar, tea house or even in my bedroom.
Toasting to my first blog about music, I shall offer my audience with this diva-ish number.
I first got aquainted with this old school, hot diva melody in the movie 2046 and I was stunned by the beauty of the scence: Zhang ziyi in a cheongsum walking in her room and dressing herself up for a night out.. a spritz of perfume and putting on pearl earrings, slight arrangement of the hair while looking into the mirror… Mesmerizing.
Thus, I couldn’t help but want to introduce this to anyone who’s viewing my blog.
In future, I think I will intro one affecting and moving melody to my audience for every entry that I make so stay tuned… ^_*
And of course… pictures from my dear ole brother’s wedding…

My brother’s wedding entourage consists of a few ‘onz’ brothers and a few other sissys… The greenish thing that I’m holding in the above picture is actually a slice of baby bittergourd, one of the ‘punishments’ that all the brothers have to go through in order for my brother to get to the bride. My cousin couldn’t take it so in a moment of exasperation, I snatched over the slice of punishment and crunch it all up in a few bites. And.. it wasn’t bad actually. I also heard that it’s fantastic for your health! *_^
*
*

Me and My Da Sao! Hmmm… pretty pretty huh? Remembering that day’s events, we were all pretty knackered…
*
*

Me and one of my da sao’s entourage.. I do love my little red beret that I was wearing that night … I decided to appear in that little black number with red accessories and I must say, it was quite a success!
More music and photos coming your way *_*
Apologies dear ladies and gentlemen…
I know that this blog is not supposed to be an outlet for me to vent my frustrations… But I just simply cannot take it anymore.
First of all, I think I’m doomed to fail in relationships. How is it so difficult to find the right person to be with? I mean, guys are aplenty that’s for sure… but the market is really bad for me out there (not talking about the already doomed economic market). I’ve been asked by 4 married guys to be their mistress and then there’s the 20 plus guys who generally don’t have an opinion of their own. In fact, I think I look like their mom beside them. Not that i look fantastically old or anything but I kinda look like I can mother them very well. In the past 4-5 months, I had two failed relationship already so ditto on telling you guys how bad it was for me.
Then there’s the work bit. Why am I still working in this company? I know I’ve tendered my resignation and all but staying behind to see the shit that has been going on is just saddening. What happened to the ideals and aspirations that was so strong in me when I first joined the company? God damn… People are just bad at managing people…. No wait, they don’t manage, they just wanna be a dictator. And because they cannot gain any respect from the older staff (the good ole residential team), they decided to hire new staff and try to instill fear in them. Did they really think that’ll work? The male boss has his brains scattered everywhere and the female boss is a bloody emo-piece-of-shit. She can’t take stress, she can’t bloody speak proper english, and she likes to boast about her oh so glorious past. Enough lady, the past is the past! You’ve got to proof something like fuckin now…..
And then there’s the dear girls at work.. SIGH… I just wanna cry when I think about it.. All of us are super tight and to leave them all is just DEPRESSING!!! Where would you get a workplace that’s full of gorgeous looking girls who aren’t bitchy and is willing to save your ass when there’s trouble?? Oh man… Maybe I should start my own company and then get them over to help me out. That way, we can model the products together, market them and have so much fun together! GODDAMN!!!! Sighh…. I miss you girls already… Serene and Jack, my supervisor and manager have been asked to tender their resignation and the management do not even show that they’re appreciative or anything. Hey, you guys (if you’re reading this) had no clue what was going on in the first place. Now that you’ve realised how screwed up this thing is, you try to save it in the sorriest manner. WOW.. I’m soooo impressed by your ‘abilities’. I don’t see the over achiever that you’d claimed to be and I don’t see the so-called ideals of the company as you’d mentioned. WTF…!!??
But then, something good came out of this sea of trouble. I’ve recently mustered the courage to talk to my very close friend who was my mentor (somthing happened but that’s another story) and I got to know this really funny and intellectual guy who plans to invest in my idea. Now, I’ve just got to get my act together to see how this thing goes.
Just as a sounding board, if anyone reads my blog, could you please tell me if you like the hat I was wearing in the previous entries I’d made?
If you do, please drop me a comment or email or something *_^
Sigh… feel much better….
Will be back to blog about something beautiful in this ugly world….
MY PHONE!!
Dear Oh Dear!
I stopped posting because my phone/camera was stolen… Arghh.. No more taking photographs! I must quickly buy a phone!!!
Till then,
Love Always..
Company Dinner!!!
Had an off day on one of the days last last week but alas! Had to attend a company dinner and later, a karaokay session!! Sighhh… not fair… I wanted the whole day to myself…
In anycase, I was heartened by the lovelies in my office..
First up, the Pinkies!!!
Then the blackies!
And finally all together! Tsk… Everyone was scrambling to take the best picture and checking to see if they look good or look fat in the pics! Girls girls… What can I say?
Me and the snow white of the team…
My Da Lao Puo! Hot isn’t she??! ^_*
And two of our best looking girls!! Jess and Jane!!! Woohoo!!!
and of course… when you have pretty staff, you definitely have ugly bosses… Tee Hee Hee… Just kidding dudes! Hello Jack and Freddy! You’ve been the most unconventional of all bosses!!
Although I grumble at the fact that I have to attend company dinner on my off day, I must say that the food wasn’t too bad at all! It was simply marvellous! We had prime cuts of beef, pork and chicken with the most exquisite korean sides and salads! Pl
Hmmmm… I don’t understand how some people can go on ranting and raving about the meals that they have especially one rich in meat. I for on, would prefer something lighter instead of a decadent meal full of beef chicken and pork. To me, fish and veg is the way to go. (LOVVVEE JAP!!)
In anycase, next up, Christina Baby’s BDay pictures!!!
I’ll blog it when I’m feeling not too lazy….^_^
Memories from the showroom…
Sigh…. Been working non-stop for the past two weeks with the girls at the showroom… talk about tiredzz…! My managers said that we girls are spoilt because they use to do showroom duties and they’ll stretch for months and there’s no sight of any off days until you’re given one… once in a while.
Oh well.. Don’t wanna hear the ‘I’d eaten more salt than the amount of rice you ate’ story from them… Today, I’d finally fallen ill thanks to the continuous working and the flu bug flying around. I thought well, since I’m at home, I could update this blog with some memories from the showroom..
PS: I LOVE YOU GIRLS AT WORK!!!

Japanese Summer Festival!!
Arghhh!! Have been soooo busy lately…. No time to have enough sleep since after our shanghai and Jakarta trip… However, I thought that I must persevere even if I feel like sleeping now..
Here are some pics from my trip to a Japanese Summer Festival at the Japanese primary school in Changi..
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us! it had to rain when the girls are decked in pretty Yukata!
And me having a little fun in a psuedo yukata!
But first… a little Asahi White…
mmmm… some devilicious Japanese fair…
Satisfaction gaurenteed!!! ( Did I spell that correctly??)
It’s been a long time…
Arghh…. It’s been a long time and I’ve been too busy to get on my blog to record great memories…
Me and the sian looks…. Sighh…. Busy tired but at least something that’ll distract me from thoughts of a faraway dream of someone that I can’t be near…
And this is my sista! Never fails to drag me all the way down to my ex working place Covo Bristo and Bar (at Bukit Timah Greenwood) for a drink ( or Drinks!!!), even when I’m bathed, comfortable and ready to tuck myself under the comforter for a good read =) Oh well, I should anyway since he always travelling! Miss ya Roy!
Then came a whole host of celebrations for my Birthday! Thank you my friends, for cheering me up with the thought, comeraderie and presents!
These are given to me by my collegues…
A superb Japanese meal given to me by Bear san!
My newfound poison… Sake! Well… I feel quite normal in the morning even if I had a tad too much Sake ( unless I get horribly drunk!!) I guess I’m an asian through and through afterall.. able to take things made with the asian philosophy! My fav though, is Nigori Sake, the ones with the rice sediments at the bottom…
Psst!!! SKII’s pitera could be the same as those found in the rice sediments! Afterall, that’s how Pitera was discovered!
And gasp! Flavoured shaved ice that’s as fine as the natural snow! It’s a new shop located at the basement of Far East Plaza opened by a friend called “A Sweet Slice of Life”. Definitely a delicious must try!
Yum! I must get a taste of them soon!
